European Authors Department

We represent European authors directly and sell their rights to publishers across Europe. It is the newest part of the agency and the only department of its kind in the Andrew Nurnberg network.

We take on very few authors, and only ones who have already proved themselves at home. Our writers come from Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Croatia and other countries, and we place them with publishers across the continent.

Who runs the department

Judit Hermann and Ivica Ďuricová

We joined forces in 2024 and have run the department together ever since. Judit brings thirty years of selling rights, negotiating and building the agency’s standing across the industry. Ivica brings fifteen years in publishing and marketing, and the perspective of a published author.

Commercial fiction from this part of Europe was overlooked for a long time. That is changing fast, and our authors have both of those careers behind them.

What we are looking for

Commercially successful authors with a published backlist and a real track record at home. At the moment, we do not represent debuts, and we do not represent authors in their own domestic market: your home publisher stays your home publisher.

We work in commercial fiction and in self help non fiction with clear commercial potential. We are not currently taking on literary fiction.
